Upgrading Windows 10 Disconnect your VMs?
Did you just upgrade your Windows desktop to Windows 10, build 9226? Running Hyper-V with some VMs? Did those VMs lose connectivity? I did but I got mine fixed. Here's how.

Initial Look at my Microsoft Surface RT
Microsoft has finally jumped into the foray of tablet companies with the official release of Windows 8 and their Surface RT tablet. I was one of the early adopters willing to pay $599 for a 32GB version with the black Touch Cover keyboard receiving it on Friday, October 26, 2012. In going back and reading the reviews published about the Surface RT, I will agree with many of their assessments: This is a great piece of hardware but the software (Operating System and Apps) need some improvement.

Like SysInternals Tools? Want to Keep Them Automatically Updated?
If you are an IT Professional and have not heard of the SysInternals tools, you need to get out of the server room more often. SysInternals tools, originally NTInternals and then WinInternals, were built by a company headed by Mark Russinovich and Bryce Cogswell. Their company, started in 1996, offer many tools for IT professionals. In 2006, Microsoft purchased the company and all of its assets including bringing Mark Russinovich to Redmond to join Microsoft. These tools can help IT Professionals and developers understand what is happening when things go wrong.

Windows 8, the Mail App, and CA Roots
I know I am a big-time geek. I use my TechNet subscription from Microsoft and run many servers at home since I am not always very technical at my job as Director of IT. It is a management position, not a technical position. In setting up Windows 8 on my ASUS EP121, I wanted to use the Mail App to check on my personal mail accounts.
